Fortnite DLSS On vs Off In Low Graphics Mode On RTX 3070 In 4K 60FPS Upscaled to 8K 60FPS
In this video I'm testing Nvidia's DLSS 2.0 technology or Deep Learning Super Sampling version 2.0 with Fortnite using an Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU.
For the test I'm in 4K with the frame rate uncapped and with the Fortnite game graphics settings set to low.
In low mode for the graphics the gameplay is over 200FPS but the graphic quality looks quite bad due to the graphics settings being on low.
When switching on DLSS we see an immediate massive improvement to the resolution of the graphic quality and rendering. Remember that you are seeing DLSS being applied to low graphics, this is seriously impressive. What's also impressive is that the frame rate with DLSS on is still peaking over 100FPS.
You may notice some dropped frames, this is simply due to the RTX 3070 being maxed out because it is also being used to encode the gameplay with its NVENC encoder for recording with Nvidia Shadowplay for the h.264 game stream recording.
While this video was recorded at 4K 60FPS, the footage was upscaled and edited at 8K 60FPS then exported to a 400Mbs H.265 8K 60FPS MP4 file for the YouTube upload. Even if you don't have an 8K TV or 8K monitor, play this video at the highest possible stream quality you can and 8K wherever possible, it will help you see the differences even more.
