This is about a 9-minute improvement over the last run I posted on here in 2016. What happened? Well, I discovered that you do not lose speed boosts after getting a game over. Since each speed boost you get lasts 50 seconds, it's actually well worth your time to grind for them. Unfortunately, we need to grind for 12 of them on level 10, so 3:18-7:03 is the boring part of the run. We also sporadically get an extra speed boost off a game over in a few other levels; if we enter those particular levels with just a single life, more time is saved there than if we were to do the same on Level 10 (as three lives must be lost for each speed boost on that level).
Obviously, sub-40 is a time to be eyeing at this point. However, I am satisfied enough with how this run went and won't be going for it. RNG was great overall with few unintentional deaths (although Level 18 had some questionable decisions).
