The first SNES Flintstones game (and the much better of the two) is a pretty classic example of a good-quality classic platformer by the old arcade powerhouses of old. It really doesn't do anything revolutionary, but it's a blast to play, evokes all the charm of the ancient cartoon with its graphics and music, and it has the typical spit-shine polish that Taito was known for in turning out quality games time and time again.
It even nails Betty and Wilma's roles perfectly - just like in the old cartoon, they're reduced to little more than nags that just want to spoil the fun. Oh, feminism, you still can't touch the Japanese interpretation of old American media, can you?
