Game & Watch Gallery 2: Parachute - Modern
A simple gameplay video of the modern version of Parachute on hard mode in Game & Watch Gallery 2 for the Nintendo Game Boy Color (also compatible with the original black and white Game Boy and Super Game Boy, as shown).
In Parachute, the objective is simple, catch the fleeing characters jumping from above in your boat. Any character who falls in the water will be counted as a miss, and three missed survivors ends the game.
In the Modern version, the gameplay is relatively simple as well. The one thing that should be noted is that characters jumping closer to the ship fall faster than those jumping further away. Naturally, heavier characters fall faster as well with Donkey Kong Jr being the fastest, Yoshi in the middle and Toad the slowest.
Occasionally, a Toad will float into the cannon on the right-hand side where he will wait a moment before being fired back into play. The Toad shot from the canon will fall quickly as his parachute will not open. If the fish is occupying a spot that the boat is not, any missed character will bounce on the fish until collected or the fish moves, allowing a little allowance for dealing with multiple parachuters.
Every 100 points will give the opportunity to score bonus points as eggs will form occupying the three areas of play. A star will randomly form in one of the eggs, which can be collected for extra points; depending upon the multiple of 100, the cannon will shoot out the star the number of times of that multiple. If the player has scored a missed and reached a specific point total, a miss-clearing heart will form from the egg instead of a star.
