Guide for Gang-Il's basic tools and combos to get you started playing The King of Fighters XIV. These combos may not be optimized, but range from beginner to intermediate in difficulty and should give you a head start in learning this character. Feedback and questions are welcome!

Please refrain from character requests. I will create a guide for the entire cast, but I will go at my own pace. Please understand.

Additional notes:
Very fun character! Not terribly gimmicky, yet with enough interesting traits to make him engaging.

Confirming into d~d K from lights can be a little tricky. There isn't really a trick, just practice. If you're doing from a cr. A you can input a down motion for the cr. A, then hit down one more time for the special. So the entire input would look like down+A then down+K.

If you see the qcb BD hit three times, I'm doing the qcb BD the instant Gang leaves the ground after jumping from the previous special move. This is very important for the corner combos that I show you, because the dp BD won't connect properly if it isn't timed properly.

Unfortunately, as cool as Gang's MAX combos are, a cl. D xx Stomp xx Super will do more damage at times. Nonetheless they're good to know; they're easier to confirm into and you can get them off of something like his amazing st. D.

Bracket damage is based off of a cl. D xx MAX starter.

A = Light Punch (Square)
B = Light Kick (X)
C = Heavy Punch (Triangle)
D = Heavy Kick (Circle)
st. = standing
cl. = close
cr. = crouching
j. = jumping
b, d, f = back, down, forward respectively
[n] = hold n direction for at least half a second
qcf = quarter circle forward (d, df, f)
qcb = quarter circle back (d, db, b)
hcf = half circle forward (b, db, d, df, f)
hcb = half circle back (f, df, d, db, b)
dp = dragon punch (f, d, df)
rdp = reverse dragon punch (b, d, db)
xx = cancel
arrow = do immediately after unless specified
- = follow up
(n) = cancel after nth hit of the move
