I briefly touch on the new YouTube comments fiasco before getting into the main topic which is discussing how YouTube and Twitch's recent obsession with only promoting popular content is eerily reminiscent of the blockbuster content industries they seek to replace. They're getting into the same cycle that's crippling those industries and if they don't wake up and start giving smaller players a chance, they're going to find themselves with no one to make content for them soon.
