Retro Flashback: Magician Lord (Neo-Geo)
8In this episode of Retro Flashback, I take a look at Magician Lord for the Neo-Geo. This is another launch game for the system that's generally regarded as pretty poor, which I can kind of understand given the track record of its developer. However, I think despite its many flaws, this is a game that had a lot of good ideas that maybe could have been something special if its planned but cancelled sequel happened. It also has what I think is one of the best 16-bit era soundtracks and I was quite disappointed to see it's been largely ignored by the remix community. What do you think of the tunes?
Magician Lord is available for digital purchase on the Wii Virtual Console which can be accessed through the Wii Shop Channel. It is also part of the SNK Arcade Classics Volume 1 retail collection which is available for the Wii, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable.
