Retro Flashforward: MURI (PC)
In this episode of Retro Flashforward, I take a look at MURI for the PC. No, you're not seeing things, this is totally a brand new game made for PCs and released on Steam but presented as an early 90s DOS platformer, complete with 16 colour graphics and PC speaker music and sound effects with no modern compromises whatsoever except for the option of a higher frame rate. This is a game that most certainly won't be for everyone but I think it's a fascinating piece that knows exactly what it is and who it's aiming for, even if that's probably a pretty small niche. In the context it was designed under, it's pretty solid and fun too and dirt cheap to boot.
MURI is available for digital purchase on Steam here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/267360/
In the video, I mistakenly said it was $3 but at time of recording, it's actually $4. I also speculated is might be available for Mac or Linux but at time of recording, it can only be purchased for Windows.
