Genshin Impact (Playstation 4 Pro) - Gameplay
Welcome to Game Play. A series, of sorts, where I check out various video games and share the pure gameplay experience with you.
Today we're taking a look at Genshin Impact on the Playstation 4 Pro.
My immediate impressions so far:
Genshin Impact is free to play on the console, and for that very reason I admittedly had lowered my expectations.
Going into it, I was genuinely surprised to see this level of content and polish in a free to play title. The audiovisual presentation is stunning, and I absolutely love the artstyle. At times it felt like I was playing an anime, which I found myself enjoying more than anticipated.
The gameplay and combat mechanics are quite simple, but they offer a decent amount of variety and options. You can level up your character(s) and equip them with various items and weapons granting a host of bonuses and tweaks.
All in all, Genshin Impact seems promising and I might return one day to continue my journey sometime soon. Having said that, I am curious to see how the developers plan on making an income and potentially profit on their game. I haven't come across anything yet that suggest a less than stellar monetization scheme, but it's worth having in mind when playing the game.
So far, I am enjoying it more than I had expected, and credit where credit is due. They've crafted a beautiful world that players can seemingly enjoy without spending anything else but their time.
That's not a bad deal, in my opinion. Check it out if you're both curious and able to.
The game was recorded directly on the console to an external HDD. No postwork has been done besides a minor edit towards the end, where I combined two clips into one.
