Crappy 3/4 perspective (like ZAXXON) in which you are a gladiator riding a horse through 2 different races-- one simply on horseback and one in a chariot, with bombs you can lob at opposing racers/obstacles. Not sure what some of the non-human opponents are.. they look like robots! You have 2 buttons: one to gallop/pick up speed (repeatedly press it to speed up, but the horse will eventually tire and slow back down for a bit), and one to jump over obstacles or throw bombs (in the 2nd race). At the beginning and end of the course the action is in a horizontal perspective; when the end approaches, you'll want to wail on the gallop button to ensure you make first place-- but if you don't it's not game over or loss of a life, you just don't get double bonus points for time remaining. Bump the enemy horses into the walls, but take note that the collision detection is shitty-- you can go through obstacles/enemies at one point or you may trip over (lose a life) from just brushing up against other horses! WTF? If you are endlessly frustrated with the first race, take comfort in knowing you can seemingly bump into enemies without tripping for the most part with your chariot in the 2nd race. The GLADIATOR that came out 2 years later by Allumer/Taito is MUCH better than this; try that one instead. Suggested by YouTube user Charlie Cat.
