Okay horizontally scrolling shooter with 3 weapons: laser (blue), homing (green) and spread (red). Spread cannot be used as rapid-fire like the others when you hold down the fire button (lame). You can upgrade the weapons 2 or 3 times. Your ship has 2 shields that move as you do and fire shots when you do; they will block enemy fire for you as well. This might lead you to believe the game is a snap; well, that's not the case! The enemies can shower you with firepower, even when close to you! You can also be confused and forget which are the shields and which is your ship, if you're a noob at this game. Your ship has a tractor beam which can capture small enemies and fire them at enemies, creating a "black hole"-type of explosion. You can also pick up certain weapon power-up type of icons that are black, and give you another enemy in front of you (like you tractor beam'ed it). The enemies can shoot a captured enemy, destroying it and wasting your potential bomb. Speed up icons are also available. Getting extra power-ups of the same color after you're all powered up to maximum gives you bonus points. The stages in this game are really long and it's often tough to tell whether you're hitting the boss enemy's vital spot or not (though, if you take too long to destroy it, it wanders off and the level ends). In case you're inquiring.. this is indeed the game with the infamous ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US dialogue, though that is in the Mega Drive port of this game.
