Crappy, really weird Japan-only follow up to BRAVOMAN-- remember that one? Nope, me neither. Anyway, one of the bosses of that game stars in this game. He is a feudal lord with a cannon/pistol on his head and Japanese fans on his feet. And that's just the tip of this weirdo iceberg. Shoot bullets out of the pistol or hold down the fire button and release for a large cannonball-- this is TONS more effective against bosses; you really don't want to mess with the regular shot after the first boss. The stages are set up in groups of 4 for each area, and each stage's end has a boss fight. After clearing 3 groups of stages (out of a possible 5; you can choose to start on any of them after you clear a set or when you start the game) you will be whisked off to the final stage-- a really long one with multiple bosses. There don't seem to be any power ups in this game, though you can get 2 shields-- they just act as a hit protector, and since you are a one-hit kill you will lose it and then die with the next hit, although you can get a second shield if you've already got one on, so that would be 2 hits. To get the shield you must destroy vases (they come in blue and yellow). The vases will often release hanafuda cards (a popular card game in Japan); if you get 3 you will see a large ball drop; destroy it quick enough and it will release the shield (first a wooden shield, then a metal or steel shield if you're already wearing the wooden one). The enemies in this game are often incredibly strange; one of the bosses is a cat head with a starfish on top of it! No weapon upgrades is really stupid for a shooter.. just the aforementioned shields. A rare stinker from Namco. Suggested by YouTube user Namcotenterprises.
