GoPro Lied About The Media Mod It Does Not Have A Shotgun Mic
There really isn't much else to say beyond the title and the video. For all those GoPro Hero 8 Black users out there who bought the GoPro Media Mod, what do you think about the fact that the microphone on the Media Mod is not what GoPro said it was, as in, it is not a shotgun mic?
Do you think that this was simply a lie in order to gain sales?
Do you seriously think that GoPro's technical team who designed the mic for the Media Mod didn't know the difference between a shotgun mic and whatever system this is supposed to be? Or that they didn't know the difference between an omni microphone capsule and a cardioid mic capsule?
Regardless of the process that GoPro are using to try and fudge a directional response from this microphone. It simply isn't good enough as no matter how you look at this, starting off with any omnidirectional microphone is simply never going to give you a true cardioid response.
Anyone who designs a microphone that's main use is for vlogging, will know that the microphone has to have a cardioid response minimum and probably a super cardioid to be especially effective in noisier environments.
On every single level as a vlogging mic this microphone system not only fails but is completely wrong.
