GoPro Media Mod Mic Mod
30In this GoPro Media Mod Mic Mod video I'm using an omni-directional ECM Electret Condenser Microphone capsule.
As the internal mic on the Media Mod is effectively omni anyway, I thought I'd try out a different omni capsule in it.
Unlike the forward facing microphone cardioid pickup pattern of a traditional vlogging mic, an omni picks up sound from all around it. While this isn't necessarily ideal for vlogging in noisy surroundings, it does give a another option for a vlogging microphone for the GoPro Hero 8 Black.
I've already done a few microphone hacks for the GoPro Media Mod and will be doing some more mods just to see how far I can push the on-board microphone of the Media Mod with further modifications to make it the best vlogging microphone for the GoPro as far as I can get it.
