Thats the last time I believe anything about some kind of getaway or duty to perform. The survival game, I know of it well since Resident Evil and obviously, the 2009 smash hit Minecraft among other games that have survival mechanics. And yet somethings never really change tbh. This game goes back to 2019 by Creepy Jar and this PS5 port was released on August 14rth 2024.

Green Hell is a first person survival game putting us in control of Jake Higgins: Researcher who has joined his wife Mia in the Amazon Rainforest, The tutorial shows the prologue of us establishing camp then realizing that this location, is no paradise but a place of either life or death.

Firstly, Green Hell's overall gameplay is one part that I'm not a fan of: It feels like this game goes out of its way to make things that much more difficult from opening your backpack and putting a bandage on, to just crafting tools, you need to hold the correct button combinations then let go or nothing happens which (in 2024?) Is foolish. From our checklist we can log new plants and animals, can craft tools, and also check our vitals via a solar battery watch.

Then there's the stuttering, I'm perplexed as, even with the performance mode, Green Hell remains at 30FPS, Usually that doesn't matter to me but the noticable lag does make the action not as fluid. The combat is hit or miss when attacked, but it is more believable vs The forest, another game I'll tackle later, Injuries require you to use the inspect option and can range from cuts and bruises to broken bones requiring careful usage and not overexetering yourself. Its flawed but its a alright game.
