Turok - Shake, Rattle & Die
1It's green.. and pissed, watch your back. The Nintendo 64 has so many nostalgia and games that are memorable.. Even after 30 years which is amazing, Turok itself? Its breathtaking to think that this game was made on the nitfty cart based system, and NightDive? They should need no introduction. Going back to the N64 in March 1997, This remastered release originally was given a PC release in 2015 with PS4 getting a port in February 2021.
The Plot of this FPS involves the Native American time-traveling warrior named Tal'Set or Turok, each world is protected by a Turok but a villian named "Campaginer" seeks the Chronoscepter which is in pieces throughout each world. Per FPS rules, we begin with a Bow and Arrow, Turok's signature weapon and a knife.
Firstly I had to tone down the controls and the sway of the camera because it was becoming hard to handle, and giving me nausea. Like the PC game Shadow Warrior, Turok is a platforming FPS game requiring careful jumps over death gaps, Other weapons are picked up including the Shotgun, Machine Gun, Pistol, Explosive arrows and more as you play. Enemy A.I. is good and can pathfind though it feels like enemies die way too easy even on normal, it gets very hard later on but I still think Turok is a legend of the late FPS shooter genere!
