
GZDoom: OpenAL Soft Elevation HRTF despite being 2.5D Engine?
This is a weird discovery I made while I was messing around with the hi-res soundpack for Doom (https://www.perkristian.net/sounds/pk_doom_sfx.zip). Apparently, at some point in GZDoom's development, support for elevation HRTF was added. This odd, because Doom's engine is technically 2D and not 3D. However, the effect is limited, as it doesn't adjust for the player's mouse position.
