Half-Payne | Half-Life: Episode Two Demo | No Failure Run
12It's another one of those low hanging fruits that I couldn't resist. You got a mod that's themed after FEAR, you got a mod that has slowmo mechanics, bada bing bada boom, ashes. Wish the mod had a better name, though. Calling the mod "Half-Life Episode Two" is misguided in both searching for it and talking about it, especially since there's a HL2EP2 that folks and comps mistake it with.
But anyways, right. It's a spooky mod of sorts. More in line with FEAR with all the hoolabaloo military spookies, but it does work quite well with Half-Payne's gameplay. Sadly unfinished, though the demo is available with a light slice of what could've been. Bit of a scoundrel to clean up, though. Less so much the code, but more the assets that could clash with HP and HP | R's. Took me a fair bit to clean those up.
Since the genuine changes are for the most part minimal, I don't think I can just upload a cut down version of basically the same mod. Okay, I guess I did change the audio quality of all the music files to 22khz so Goldsource won't butcher them, and I did alter the maps directly to provide some of HP's exclusive weapons, but yeah, they're not major enough changes to warrant an upload. Terribly sorry if there's folks interested in trying out the mix as well, you'll have to go the long way around.
