Immersion Dilemma | H&D: SAS Missions | Part 7
It's kind of an interesting problem, isn't it? I've long treated H&D AI as incomprehensible creatures that occasionally does something human-like, but sometimes there's scripted sequences that makes me think about the actions done in this mission.
The encounter in the house where we get the disguises, for instance. I think the intend for that bit was to be a moral dilemma of sorts. A civvie who's guarding their truck from being stolen by dastardly Allied invaders. That would be a pretty strong sequence, thinking about it. The SAS needing to do what's necessary to complete the mission, even if civilian lives are to be put aside.
Of course, it kinda falls apart when there's no way to interact peacefully with the civvie, since they're just technically German soldiers with a different reskin, so I don't get to actually feel bad about it. I guess we'll see if it's gonna be any different with the town, since there's civilians walking around, zip zooming between realities as they reach the end of their "patrol paths".
