10The mall takes about a good chunk of the mapset's playtime. I suppose it's fair enough since it's similarly where Dawn of the Dead primarily takes place, but man, the level design here really starts getting on my nerves by the end of the section.
Yeah, I should probably say that the level design is VERY 90s. For both better and worse. It's fascinating seeing the creativity to pull off a TC of this caliber not a few years after the release of Doom 2, but golly it can be easy to get lost with all of the featureless hallways and corridors that often look the same. Helps that I've played the original before this run, I suppose.
Also, I don't think I've mentioned this yet in the other parts, but you might've noticed me occasionally flashing the automap for no particular reason. I'm actually checking the timer in order to see when I should start bolting for the exit. Limitations of a small HDD, but at the same time, helps to keep me from dilly dallying around too much trying to nick everything that isn't nailed down in the maps and store them in the box.
