Part 9 of this playthrough. In this part, I complete Shutdown and start with Composer. Master Chief heads for the production tower.

After taking down all three attenuators, Master Chief heads for the production tower as he tries to prevent the Didact from leaving Requiem. Cortana notes that the defense spires they keep running into are being controlled from this tower. She adds that if they can get to the control room, they might be able to reposition them to block the Didact's ship from leaving. After entering the third spire’s interior and taking a gravity lift, they reach the spire controls. Cortana attempts to tap into the spires' central net in an attempt to block the Cryptum from launching, but experiences a rampant episode as the spires plummet downwards. Cortana notices Liches moving in formation towards the Didact's ship. Master Chief runs off the edge of the platform, aiming for the Liches and making it to one. Above them, the Cryptum plummets into the ground and accesses an entry point. The ground reveals an enormous Forerunner flagship, known as Mantle's Approach. Requiem's entrance portal opens up, allowing the ship to leave for orbit. Master Chief takes cover behind one of the Lich's fins as the flagship and its Lich and Phantom escorts raise their shields as they approach the rupture.

As Mantle's Approach and Covenant vehicles enter from Slipspace, Master Chief looks up to see Installation 03, where Infinity found the coordinates for Requiem. Cortana says that the Composer is not on the ring, and they come across Ivanoff Station. Master Chief attempts to contact the station, with Dr. Sandra Tillson responding and stating that Ivanoff Station is under attack. Chief informs Dr. Tillson that enemy forces are after a Forerunner artifact they took from the Halo ring. Cortana experiences another rampant episode, and the Lich crashes below the open landing bay. Master Chief wakes up on the floor of the landing bay. He tells Dr. Tilson to issue the order to evacuate the station, but Tilson says that the Covenant has taken over the landing bay. The Chief then tells her to send him her coordinates, and that he'll try to clear an evac route on his way to her. Master Chief begins his search for Dr. Tillson, running to the end of the landing bay, then running down the hallway and eventually arriving at a doorway that opens to a hangar. The Chief fights off Covenant intruders and forces dropped off by Phantoms. Master Chief makes his way to the Harbormaster controls, activating the system and raising the barricade shields. Cortana tells Dr. Tilson that Bay 7 is secured, and that she and the Chief are moving to her position. The Chief runs into a group of security guards and assists them against Covenant fire. The Chief and his squad make their way up the stairs, reaching the floor overlooking the bay. An orange scan line from the Mantle's Approach moves through the station, with Cortana saying Didact doesn't know where the Composer is, but knows that it's on the station. Master Chief arrives at the control room, taking down a pair of Hunters. The Chief meets up with Dr. Tilson. He explains to her that the Composer is a Forerunner weapon, and the Didact wants it back. Dr. Tillson knows that the Composer can't leave the station, and the Chief asks her to give Cortana access to the station's supply manifest. He adds that if they can't move the Composer, they have to make sure the Didact can't. He then tells Dr. Tillson to route her people to the evac centers, and Dr. Tillson says she'll make sure the nukes are primed so the Chief can detonate them remotely. Master Chief must now help Dr. Tillson evacuate the station. He arrives at the large cavern where the Composer is, and meets with several security guards. The station suddenly shakes, with Dr. Tillson explaining that the Covenant just shot down the first evac shuttle. He makes his way across the atrium and walks through the door. A security guard opens the door for the Chief, which he enters as he begins to make his way to the service tunnel entrance.
