Halo 4 (The Master Chief Collection) - Part 5
0It’s time to begin Infinity in the fifth part of this playthrough. Master Chief begins to search the jungle for UNSC Infinity and UNSC forces while Cortana paints IFF tags on his HUD.
Going deeper into the jungle, he takes on Promethean Crawlers as well as Knights and Watchers. After taking out a Promethean Knight, the Chief picks up his Promethean vision module and uses it to fight off more Prometheans. Cortana finds that Prometheans are using it to see through the fog. Master Chief eventually arrives at the entrance to a Forerunner structure, and he accesses the IFF tag record. Multiple NAV points appear behind the entrance, with Cortana finding that they are allies. Two Spartans exit as the doorway opens, and Master Chief meets Commander Thomas Lasky and Commander Sarah Palmer. The Chief and the Spartans head inside, and Lasky kneels down next to the radio to communicate with Del Rio and request assistance. Del Rio asks Lasky if he got the coordinates to the gravity well. Lasky says that he did, but they need a way out. With the transmission cutting off, Cortana finds that Lasky was sent on a scouting run in the middle of an attack on the ship. Lasky explains that Del Rio thought Infinity could provide cover and hold off the attack at the same time. Lasky tasks the Chief with securing a landing zone, and the Chief leaves the structure with two Marines. After fighting off against a group of Prometheans, they encounter a group of ground Marines and assist them against more Prometheans forces. They secure the area, only to find a locked exit. Cortana explains that the Marines got trapped trying to get through the doors. The Chief uploads her into a nearby pedestal, with Cortana attempting to open the doors to the cave system while Master Chief and the UNSC forces defend the hill top from Promethean waves. Cortana eventually unlocks the passageway, with the Chief taking a tunnel to the cavern. At the exit, he finds a Promethean Knight giving out orders to Grunts. As it turns out, the Didact has unified the Covenant, and they are now working with the Prometheans. Master Chief fights off the Covenant and Prometheans in the cavern. Cortana tells Lasky that the landing zone is secured, but Del Rio reports that hostile forces are attempting to gain entrance to the Infinity bridge. Del Rio orders all units to return to Infinity, with Lasky telling the Chief that he's redirecting the SPARTAN-IVs to rally point Alpha-Sierra-Foxtrot. He adds that the Chief has tactical command of the forward assault force until Lasky and his Spartans catch up. Lasky tasks the Chief with meeting up with them and taking back the ship. Master Chief enters the Pelican and is dropped off in an open canyon. Fighting off Covenant troops, the Chief eventually meets up with Marines in a Scorpion. They begin to head for starboard hangar 2-19.
