Hardlight VR Haptic Suit - Interview at Pax East 2017
So I got to check out NullSpace VRs new haptic suit the Hardlight VR and I'm happy to say I'll be keeping my Kickstarter pledge. If you're interested in haptic solutions for VR, you might want to check it out as well.
I won't go into too many tech specs here, you can find them at the Kickstarter page. There's only 5 days left as of the posting of this video!

What I will go into is that the suit was very comfortable. It didn't feel bulky or in the way. Once in VR it ends up being more backround noise and I didn't really feel like I was wearing anything extra. Until the dev shot me in the chest and the feedback kicked in!
For the demo they put me in, the majority of what I felt was the pistol causing my right forearm to vibrate with each shot, simulating recoil. I also had minor vibrations coming from my back when an enemy got behind me.
It seems like it could be put the great use. There is an 'IF' in here though. There's always an if and this one is pretty big. IF developers take the time to pull in the SDK and actually use it. Without enough dev support this is just a futuristic looking armor shaped paper weight...
NullSpace seems to be doing a good job at going after dev support with 15-20 launch titles but lack of dev support could definitely kill this guy. Hopefully dev support keeps coming on board at the same rate after it launches. If so we shouldn't have anything to worry about.
If there's a game you'd like me to check out, feel free to hit me up.
