Hideous Destructor | Final NeoDoom: Manquant | No Failure Run
Recently finished the Perfect Dark HDest reskin set and went on a lookout for neat villa-style mapsets. I would've gone with a skyscraper, but Eric's done Going Down, so my choices were limited. Never did found any Carrington-esque estates in my preliminary search, but I did remember a map that got decently close enough. Bit of a bold choice, perhaps, but I did manage to make it work.
The chaotic encounter setup might make one wonder how these fights were meant to go, having cybies occupy places really ill-fit for them. I suspect it's because they ARE supposed to be different enemies, what with the setup I'm using being a wiretorn version. It's the reason why I went back all the way to the start after procuring the keycard, there's not really an "A-to-B" progression here.
The mapset itself is hub-based, with the player going back and forth between maps to progress. Because of how crowded a lot of the maps get in this set, I don't think the entire megawad's completable in HDest. Heck, it took me finding a lucky talisman and a friendly archvile in order to get out of this one, you could probably guess how equally messy the other maps can get.
