5Lucky me that the way to the offshore rig this time doesn't include getting knocked out while eavesdropping in a seaplane. No opera houses to visit, unfortunately. The bossfight in the Mining Site was already easy enough with the RL + HEAT rocket combo, but the invulsphere nearby certainly washed away any worries I got when I finally enter the arena.
But anyways, yeah! The Offshore Rig. Shame that we don't get to explore much of the original map's design with the seaplane and stuff. We do get to have a good swath of the other areas alongside bits of Diving Area here. Fortunately, we don't have to climb a particularly long ladder for aeons (multiple times), it's just an elevator.
Less fortunate however is the sliding jump after that I just couldn't clear with HDest's jumping mechanics. Likely 'cause it was trying to push me forwards while I'm busy trying to steady myself. Easy enough to do in vanilla, but less so here. Shame that the room isn't shaped like the original, 'cause if it was, I probably could've used a ladder at the bottom and progress that way. I was carrying the same loadout I got for the Doom Raider run, the one with the zerk pack, and it's at this point where I finally decide to use it so I can progress.
