This map's probably the longest map to beat in the entire mapset, and we haven't gotten into the later half yet! A spacious canyon waits ahead that takes a while for me to clear, connecting to a waterfall and a nearby waterway. I do have to be careful here 'cause there's an ambush in the dark with frozen enemies.

HDest has this rather strange behavior where you can hit frozen enemies, and they'll start acting like normal when you do. However, because technically speaking they're still "frozen", all of my weapons would deal zero damage to them. It's therefore highly advised to not shoot first if you see enemies in HDest that stand perfectly still, which is what I ended up doing in the dark caves instead of just sandblasting its insides with gunfire from the outside. The ambush itself is a bit tricky, but I got boatloads of turrets to help me.

After the canyon, I've finally arrived at the bad guy's lair. Though, not quite inside yet. Still gotta flip some switches and find some keys in the surrounding smaller buildings and caves before I could properly go in the main big one.
