After 7 long years the prayers of many gamers has been heard and Hollow Knight Silksong has been released. The previous Hollow Knight was a massive hit as it sold over 15 million copies and was made by a team of less than 5 people. Because of that they had the financial freedom to take their time and cook at their own pace. The developers therefore surprised everyone when they revealed that the release was only 2 weeks away when they showcased the release date trailer. And the cherry on top was that the game would only cost 20 dollars.
It truly is amazing what these developers did and it warms my heart to see people buy the game just to support this type of behavior and send a message to the gaming world.
I have to admit that I have never played the first Hollow Knight and so this was my Hollow Knight baptism. In general I do not play a lot of Metroidvania games, but playing Silksong I realize I actually do really like this genre.
The style and art of Silksong is just so charming and now has a lot more color from what I have seen compared to the first game. There are so many interesting characters you meet along the way and the music is gorgeous with little songs that the bugs sing that get stuck in your head.
It is also quite challenging, but never too frustrating. There is a lot to see and completionists will have their work cut out for them.
This video is just my first few steps into this game and I heard it is massive, so I hope to archive it once I have beaten the game.
