Whilst we wait for Homeworld's return , there is nothing to stop us rekindling those RTS skills on a cinema sized Oculus Rift DK2 screen.. using Virtual Desktop .. .. it's a good job the mic is muted and no one in cyberspace can here me scream at the end of this video...with that said it's time to go back and finish this level .
The Rift's positional tracking lets us get closer to the pixels and in games menus than ever before.. a good demo of FOV2GO inherent screen door and visible pixels.
Classic games like Homeworld though simply rock in 2D , 3D , VR and non VR..with or without such issues..
you should be able to make out my ghost in the bottom centre of the video below the "screen" and make out the positional tracking in effect....used to get closer to the menus and ships.... and you thought all it was good for was sitting in a space ship...
more 2 follow including adding head tracking to the Rifts positional tracking.. and maybe some LEAP.. VR ? Who needs VR?
