Today, I'm taking a look at a new game in Early Access called 'Hover: Revolt of Gamers'.

This game is a bit of a mix of Mirror's Edge and Jet Set Radio Future, with some other influences as well. It a bit of a parkour / free running game that takes place in a future where games and fun have been outlawed, so a gamer resistance has formed to fight the power by recovering and distributing games consoles.

The game is currently on Steam Early Access, and is being developed by a small team of only three developers. The game was originally kickstarted and is currently in a very playable state, with one area of the game available with many races and other activities available, including multiplayer support. Additional sections of the city are being developed, as well as additional content and games modes (including a 'tagging' mode similar to JSRF). Additional music is being added, including music from Hideki Naganuma the composer of some of the music in JSRF.

The game has a vibrant, cartoon look with out being childish, which is something you don't see too often in these days of 'realistic' games. The city is big and bright and is very vertical and fun to traverse. there are a bunch of NPCs walking around the city, so of whom you can interact with and race.
