How to Be Completely OFFLINE & Hide profile on PS4 Console
Step 1: Appear Offline
From the Home Screen:
Go to your Profile (select your avatar/icon from the top row of the PS4 home screen).
Select Set Online Status.
Choose Appear Offline. This makes it look like you’re not signed into PSN, even if you’re still connected and playing.
At Login (Optional):
If you’re at the user select screen before signing in, highlight your profile, press the Options button on your controller, and choose Log in with Appear Offline. This sets your status to offline right from the start.
Step 2: Hide Your Gaming Activity
Hide Specific Games:
Go to Settings - Account Management - Privacy Settings (enter your PSN password if prompted).
Select Hidden Games.
Check the boxes next to games you don’t want others to see in your profile, activities, or trophy list. This hides them from public view, though people might still see what you’re playing in real-time unless you’re offline.
Restrict Gaming History Visibility:
In Privacy Settings, go to Gaming | Media.
Select Who can see your gaming history and set it to No One. This prevents anyone from seeing your played games or progress.
Step 3: Hide Your Friends List
In Privacy Settings, select Friends | Connections.
Choose Who can see your friends list and set it to No One. This ensures no one can view who you’re connected with on PSN.
Step 4: Disable Friend Requests
In Privacy Settings - Friends | Connections, select Who can send you friend requests.
Set it to No One to block all incoming friend requests, keeping your profile isolated.
Step 5: Block Messages from Non-Friends
In Privacy Settings, select Messages.
Set Who can send you messages to Friends (or No One if you want to block all messages). This stops strangers from contacting you.
Step 6: Protect Personal Info
In Privacy Settings, go to Personal Info | Messaging.
Set Who can search for you by your real name to No One and Who can see your real name in games to No One. This keeps your identity hidden from other players.
Step 7: Disconnect from the Internet (Fully Offline)
To go completely offline (no PSN connection at all):
Go to Settings - Network.
Uncheck Connect to the Internet. This disables all online features, ensuring no one can detect your activity, but you’ll only be able to play offline single-player games or use local media.
Step 8: Verify and Test
After applying these settings, restart your PS4. Log in with Appear Offline enabled, and check your profile from another account (if possible) to ensure nothing is visible.
If you’re disconnected from the internet, your PS4 won’t interact with PSN at all, making your profile completely invisible.
