Quick Steps to Stop Background Apps on Android:
Close Recent Apps:
Swipe up and hold (or press the Recent Apps button) to view open apps.
Swipe away apps or tap Clear All to close them.

Force Stop Apps:
Go to Settings - Apps -select an app - tap Force Stop.
Use for apps you don’t need running.

Restrict Background Activity:
Go to Settings -Apps -select an app - Battery - Restrict Background Activity or Optimize Battery Usage.

This limits apps from running in the background, saving battery.
Enable Battery Optimization:

Go to Settings - Battery - Battery Optimization.
Ensure apps are set to Optimize to minimize background activity.
Limit Background Data:

Go to Settings - Network & Internet - Data Usage - select an app - toggle off Allow Background Data Usage.
