How to Change Profile background Picture on Xbox Series X|S (Best Method)
4Through Xbox Personalization Settings.
This is the central hub for all your console's aesthetic customizations.
Open the Guide: Press the Xbox button (the glowing logo) in the center of your controller.
Navigate to Profile & system: Scroll to the far right tab in the Guide, which is Profile & system (your gamertag icon).
Select Settings: From the "Profile & system" menu, scroll down and select Settings.
Go to General - Personalization: In the Settings menu, on the left-hand panel, select General, then on the right, choose Personalization.
Select "My background": This is where you'll find all your background options.
Choose your background type: You'll see several categories:
Dynamic backgrounds:
These are animated backgrounds provided by Xbox. They range from abstract designs to game-themed animations (often tied to first-party Xbox titles or special events).
Scroll through the available options and select one to apply. Some dynamic backgrounds also allow you to change their accent color.
Note: If you navigate to a game on your Home screen, its associated background art will temporarily replace your dynamic background. This is by design.
Solid color & game art:
This option allows you to pick a solid color for your background and/or use static game art from games you own.
Select a color accent from the available palette.
To use game art, you'll select from a list of games you've played or own, and the console will use its default art for that game as your background.
Achievement art:
This lets you use the art from any achievement you've unlocked as your background.
Browse through your achievements, select one, and its associated art will become your background.
Custom image:
This is the option for using your own pictures.
To use a custom image, you'll need to have the image saved on a USB flash drive connected to your Xbox, or uploaded to your OneDrive account.
If using USB: Plug the USB drive into your Xbox. Select "Custom image," then navigate to your USB drive to find the image.
If using OneDrive:
Ensure you have the OneDrive app installed on your Xbox (download it from the Store if you don't).
Upload your desired image from your phone or PC to your OneDrive account.
On your Xbox, select "Custom image," and then look for the option to browse your "Photos" or "OneDrive." Navigate to the folder where your image is saved and select it.
Once selected, the image will be applied. For best results, use high-resolution images (1920x1080 pixels or higher, preferably 4K if you have a 4K display).

This allows you to use any screenshot you've taken and saved on your Xbox console as your background.
Browse through your captures, select the one you like, and set it as your background.
Apply/Set as Background: After selecting your desired background type and image, follow the on-screen prompts to apply or set it as your background.
