How to Change Profile Picture & Gamerpic on XBOX Series X|S (Best Method)
1Method 1: Using the Xbox Console (for Default Gamerpics, Avatar Pics, or Custom via USB)
This method allows you to select from Xbox's pre-approved Gamerpics or use a custom image stored on a USB drive.
Open the Guide: Press the Xbox button on your controller.
Go to your Profile: Scroll to the far left tab in the Guide, and select your gamertag/profile icon at the very top.
Select "My profile": From the dropdown menu, select My profile.
Customize Profile: On your profile page, select Customize profile.
Select "Change gamerpic": This option will be visible on the profile customization screen.
Choose your source: You'll see several options:
Choose a provided gamerpic: This lets you pick from the extensive library of official Xbox Gamerpics.
Take a picture of my avatar: If you have an Xbox Avatar, you can pose it and snap a pic for your Gamerpic.
Upload a customized image: This is for custom images.
If you choose "Upload a customized image": You'll need a USB flash drive connected to your Xbox Series X|S. The image file (JPG or PNG) must be on this drive.
Navigate to your USB drive, select the image.
You'll be able to zoom and crop the image within a circular frame to fit the Gamerpic.
Select Upload or Done.
Important Note for Custom Images: Custom Gamerpics are subject to Xbox Community Standards. They go through a moderation process and may take some time (minutes to hours) to appear publicly. If an image violates the standards, it may be removed, and you could face enforcement action.
