Safari for Mac allows you to switch the default search engine used to search the web to Google, Bing, Yahoo, or DuckDuckGo. Changing the default search engine in Safari will also switch what search engine is used by default elsewhere in OS X, like searching from other apps.

You can read the accompanying walkthrough here for further details and an explanation of the change in OS X Safari browser:

Google is a great search engine and the most popular, but Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo each have strengths and are great choices as well. Use whichever search engine you like best!
