To change your online status on the Nintendo Switch, follow these steps:

Wake up your Switch: Press the “Home” button to access the Home screen.
Select your user profile icon in the upper-left corner.
In the sidebar menu, choose “User Settings.”
Scroll down and select “Friend Settings.”

Under “Display online status to,” choose “No One” to appear offline to your friends. Alternatively, you can select “Best Friends” if you only want to share your online status with your closest friends.
Exit your profile settings, and from now on, your Nintendo Switch friends will not be notified when you’re online or playing a game.

Additionally, if you want to hide your play activity (the list of games you’ve recently played), follow these steps:

Visit your profile page.
Select “User Settings” - “Play Activity Settings.”
Set “Display play activity to” to “No One.”
Press the “Home” button to exit your profile settings.
