About this video: Our main goal with this video is to answer the question, 'how do you make Minecraft run faster with no lag in 1.14.2'. Minecraft 1.14.2 is bit better performing that 1.14 that came before it, but it is still one of the laggiest versions of Minecraft we have seen in a very, very long time. Thus, it is very important to talk about lag fixes in 1.14.2 that will increase FPS and make Minecraft playable even on the worst computers.
So the first thing you want to do to stop lag in Minecraft 1.14.2 is install Optifine. Optifine is the best way to optimize Minecraft allowing you to lower settings, get better computing of certain tasks, and overall just make Minecraft less laggy. You can find our in-depth tutorial on install Optifine in Minecraft 1.14.2 in the description above. We go over the entire Optifine setup in this video.
After you have Optifine, we can make some optimizations for lag in the Minecraft launcher. To do this, click the three lines in the top right of the Minecraft launcher. Then, select 'Launch Options'. Once there, click the Optifine profile. Here there are two main things you can do to stop lag. The first is changing your screen resolution. The lower your screen resolution, the less pixels Minecraft has to load, and thus, the higher FPS you'll get in Minecraft. The second thing is adding more RAM which you can view with our dedicated video above.
After you have done that, open up Minecraft with Optifine installed. At this point, you will need to setup Optifine. Overall, this is a very easy and effective way to remove lag from Minecraft. The biggest rule when setting up Optifine is that everything either needs to be off or the 'fast' setting. If you can turn something off, turn it off. If you can change it to fast, change it to fast. That basic rule will allow you to setup Optifine for the best performance. Also, be sure your render distance and smooth lighting are on low.
At this point, just make sure you have shaders and texture packs turned off, and you can play Minecraft 1.14.2. You will see a significant boost in FPS, and lag will be reduced a ton. At this point, the only thing I can really recommend doing if Minecraft is still lagging is update your Java version. You can see how to do this in the description above.
