To configure #DHCP #Relay #Agent:

Step 1: First, set up two virtual machines on VMware Workstation. After creating the virtual machine named VM1 and VM2, open the Virtual Network Editor.

Step 2: Configure the network adapters of VM1 and VM2 machines as Host-only on Virtual Network Editor and create subnet addresses for both as different networks.

Step 3: The point you need to pay attention to here is that the IP addresses of the VMnets configured on your physical computer for the VMs you create are within the range of the subnet address you specify.

Step 4: Basically after configuring and checking the virtual network adapters, open GNS3, and create a new project.

Step 5: Add one Cisco Router, two Cisco Switches, and two Clouds to the workspace. Next, wire all devices.

Step 6: Add notes to the workspace for the interfaces of the devices and the IP addresses to be assigned.

Step 7: After determining the Cloud device to be configured as a DHCP server, assign an IP address to the fa0/0 and fa0/1 interfaces of the Router and turn it on.

Step 8: To verify that the interfaces are turned on, execute the show ip interfaces brief command in enable mode.

Step 9: To create a new DHCP pool on the router, execute the commands in the 5:50 timeframe.

Step 10: Configure the TCP/IP settings of VM1 and VM2 virtual machines running in VMware as Obtain IP address automatically.

Step 11: Check the details of the network adapter to get an IP address from the Router pool.

Step 12: Open the virtual machine that you will configure as a DHCP Relay Agent and use a 3rd party software to set up a DHCP service for the network block where the VM1 machine is located.

Step 13: After deleting the DHCP pool you created before with the no ip dhcp pool command, activate the Relay Agent service with the ip address-helper command in the fa0/0 interface of the Router and return to VM1.

Step 14: After enabling automatic IP on the VM1 virtual machine, you can check that an IP address has been allocated from the DHCP server located in the second network block.

Step 15: Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more videos on Cisco networking with GNS3!
