How to Connect to the Internet with Wifi or Lan on LG TV
2Option 1: Connect via Wi-Fi
Turn On Your TV: Ensure your LG TV is powered on and the remote is working.
Access the Settings Menu: Press the Home button, house icon, on your Magic Remote. Navigate to the Settings icon, gear symbol, using the directional buttons or cursor and press OK.
Go to Network Settings: Scroll to All Settings, Network, Wi-Fi Connection.
Select Your Wi-Fi Network: A list of available Wi-Fi networks will appear. Highlight your network and press OK.
Enter the Wi-Fi Password: Use the on-screen keyboard to input your Wi-Fi password. Move the cursor with the remote and press OK to select each character. After entering the password, select Connect or Enter.
Confirm Connection: The TV will attempt to connect. Once successful, you’ll see a confirmation message like “Connected to the Internet”. Test the connection by opening an app like YouTube or Netflix.
Option 2: Connect via LAN, Ethernet
Prepare Your Equipment: Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into the LAN port on the back of your LG TV. Connect the other end to your router or modem.
Turn On Your TV: Power on the TV if it’s not already on.
Access the Settings Menu: Press the Home button on your remote. Go to the Settings icon, gear, and press OK.
Go to Network Settings: Navigate to All Settings, Network, Wired Connection, Ethernet.
Automatic Connection: If the Ethernet cable is properly connected, the TV should automatically detect and establish the connection. You’ll see a message like “Connected to the Internet” once it’s done. No password is typically required unless your network has specific security settings.
Test the Connection: Open an internet-dependent app, like a web browser or streaming service, to verify it’s working.
