Why would you want JourneyMap when there are so many other Minecraft minimap mods out there. Well, JourneyMap isn’t just a minimap mod. Sure, it does add a minimap to Minecraft 1.16.5, but it also adds in some other cool features too. One of which is waypoints. This is great for finding your way back home if you get lost. However, other map mods do this too. What sets JourneyMap 1.16.5 apart from other map mods. This is an easy answer. JourneyMap allows you to open up a fullscreen map of your world in Minecraft. No other Minecraft map mod for 1.16.5 allows you to actually open up a massive fullscreen map and see everything at once. Waypoints also show up on this map making it even easier to find and use them. Thus, without any more delay, here is how to get JourneyMap in Minecraft 1.16.5!
The first step of installing JourneyMap 1.16.5 is getting Forge. After you have JourneyMap downloaded, it is time to move on actually setting up JourneyMap. The first step is learning how to download JourneyMap for Minecraft 1.16.5. You can find the download link for JourneyMap in the description above. When you click that, it will actually take to our text tutorial for getting JourneyMap. If we go too fast in this video, this is a great way to see how to install it. However, once you are there, click the yellow ‘Download JourneyMap’ button to be taken to the official JourneyMap 1.16.5 download page.
Once you are on the JourneyMap download page, look at the right-hand side bar and scroll down until you see the ‘Minecraft 1.16’ section. Under that, you will see a JourneyMap 1.16.5 version. Click the orange download button next to this version to start downloading JourneyMap. You will need to keep/save this file depending on your browser.
Now that you have JourneyMap downloaded, it is time to get it installed. To do this, open up the Minecraft launcher, click the little arrow next to the play button, and select Forge. Then, click the green play button. After that, Minecraft 1.16.5 will open up with Forge installed. From the main menu, click on ‘mods’, and the click ‘open mods folder’ in the bottom right. When you do this, your mods folder will open up. All you need to do to install JourneyMap in Minecraft 1.16.5 is drag-and-drop the JourneyMap file you downloaded in this mod folder. That’s it!
You aren’t complete done though. You still need to close out of Minecraft and reopen it. Just make sure you are playing the Forge profile/version from the launcher. Otherwise, JourneyMap won’t work. Once you are in game, it’s super simple to configure JourneyMap and start using it!
