About this video: Is buying a Nodecraft server worth it for Minecraft? Well, in this video, we go over all of the different things you need to know before purchasing a server with Nodecraft. We go over ease of use, user guides, support, the quality of hardware, and more all on Nodecraft. Thus, without anymore delay, here is our review of Nodecraft Minecraft hosting.
The first thing we consider in regards to Nodecraft is ease of use. Nodecraft is unique in this way, and this is where their premium price starts to get some justification. On Nodecraft, you can have multiple ‘instances’ making it easier to switch between modpacks and things on your servers. However, each server must have a bot. This is the pricing we covered earlier is. Basically one bot is one concurrent server. Nodecraft’s custom backend is very cool, but it does feel a bit dated at this point, and it can see overwhelming when compared to other panels out there. If you want easy gamemode switching though, look no future than Nodecraft
After ease of use, we move on to user guides. The user guides at Nodecraft are hard to navigate. There is just one general section for Minecraft that isn’t categorized. You need to know what you’re looking for in order to find help. Some articles do have video guides however which we like to see at least on more complex guides.
Moving on to Nodecraft’s support, there is no 24/7 support. This video was planned and recorded on a weekend, and their support team wasn’t there. This can be a problem as the weekend is the peak of server use. We would love to see Nodecraft add in true 24 hour 7 day a week support. In order to get a reply, you had to submit a ticket for reply. That’s cool, and I’m sure we will get a reply. However, live chat support is the standard these days.
As far as hardware goes, Nodecraft says they use Intel® Xeon® E-2174G, 32GB of RAM, SSDs, and HDD backup. Overall, this is decent hardware with CPUs produced in 2018. This is actually on the newer than we see on most Minecraft server hosting companies. This makes sense at Nodecraft considering they are a more premium server.
Speaking of modpack, Nodecraft has 124 modpacks currently setup for one click install. This is a decent amount of modpacks, and competitive with other hosts out there.
Now, it’s time to talk about Nodecraft’s price. Nodecraft is a more premium server with 2GB costing $19.98/month and a 4GB server costing $39.98/month. As I’ve said, this is a premium price for Minecraft server hosting, but with the ability to easily switch between game modes and server types, it is well worth it.
When it comes to locations, Nodecraft has 12 locations around the world with 3 in North America, 4 in Europe, 1 in Asia, 3 in Australia and New Zealand, and 1 in South America. This about middle of the road. Nodecraft has very good North American and European support.
Nodecraft also features a 7 Day ‘free trial’ before getting charged for your server. However, you do need to purchase your server in order to get FTP access. SQL Servers are also included with each purchase, and you get a free sub-domain for your server.
Overall, Nodecraft is a premium server host with some premium features. Because of this, we aren’t going to consider price as much in our ranking as you are getting a service you truly can’t get anywhere else. With that though, their support isn’t 24/7, and their Knowledge base is very hard to navigate. So overall, we give Nodecraft a 4/5. On our current list that puts them higher than MCProHosting but lower than Apex. Truthfully though, if you won’t use the easy server switching, Nodecraft isn’t the host for you as that is the main reason you would pay for their premium service.
