About this video: In this video, we show you how to find your Minecraft saves folder. Your Minecraft saves folder is also your Minecraft worlds folder meaning these folders are exactly the same thing. Why would you want to find your Minecraft world folder? Well, once you find, you can easily install custom maps, delete worlds, backup your Minecraft worlds, and more. Specifically here, we are talking about single player Minecraft worlds. Multiplayer worlds are stored on the server, and you can’t access those. Thus, without any more delay, here is how to find your world folder in Minecraft.
The first step of finding your Minecraft world folder is actually opening up the Run app. This is what we will use to get to this folder. To do this, you have two options. One, open up the start menu and search for ‘Run’. You will see the app there, and you can open it. You can also press the Windows Key on your Keyboard and ‘R’ at the exact same time. Doing this will open the Run app also.
After you have the run app open, you will see that there is a text box in it. Click this text box and in it, type %appdata%. This may seem weird, but it is how we can get to the saves folder. When you hit enter, your Roaming folder will open. Here, you will see a '.minecraft' folder. When you open that, you will see your 'saves' folder. And there you have it! That is how to find your saves folder in Minecraft.
In your saves folder, you will see all of the worlds you have in Minecraft single player. You can delete worlds, add new worlds, and edit worlds all here. For example, if you open one of your world folders, you will see ‘datapacks’ this can be a way to modify a Minecraft world without having to install Forge or other mod loaders.
