First and foremost, we need to download a custom map for Minecraft 1.14.2. You can find our in-depth list of 1.14.2 custom maps linked in the description above. There you will find the best maps that 1.14.2 has to offer from the top map creators out there. You don't have to download your 1.14.2 map from here, but if you don't have a map yet, that is the place to get one!
After you have your map downloaded, we need to make sure that we have the right folder. If you don't have the right folder, it will not work once you get it in game. First things first, extract your download. Do this by right-clicking on it, and selecting 'extract'. Confirm the extraction, and after it is complete, a folder will open up. In this folder, keep click through folders until you see 'DIM1' and 'DIM-1'. Once you do, you need to click the back arrow in the top left of the file folder. Then, drag this folder to your desktop.
Now, you sound be able to double click on the folder your dragged to your desktop to open it and instantly see 'DIM1' and 'DIM-1'. If you don't, your 1.14.2 Minecraft map will not wor. You need to make sure you are seeing those two folder or you won't be able to install your Minecraft map. Once you've confirmed this, we need to open up the 'Run' application. Do this by clicking the Windows button in the bottom left and searching for 'Run'. Then, select the 'Run' desktop app.
In the 'Run' desktop app, type '%appdata%' and hit enter. You will now see a '.minecraft' folder. Open that, and then, you will see a 'saves' folder. Open this saves folder, and you will see all of the Minecraft maps you have in single player. Drag and drop the folder from your desktop into this saves folder. This is also a good time to check that as soon as you open the folder you see 'DIM1' and 'DIM-1'. If you do, you have successfully installed a custom Minecraft map in 1.14.2!
At this point, just open up Minecraft 1.14.2, select single player, and double click on your map.
