When files are moved or a project is transferred to another device files may appear as missing. Fixing this issue is as easy as relocating the files. Every file in After Effects can be replaced to show a new directory for the footage and videos used.

When you have replaced one file the new pathway will be used by After Effects to try and locate other files and videos. If any files remain missing then the same process can be repeated to relocate the missing files. Eventually, all of the missing files will be found and the error will be fixed.
