How to FIX your Screen FLICKER with Transfer Rate Setting on PS5 Console (Best Method)
Screen flickering on a PS5 is often related to the HDMI connection between the console and your TV. A common and effective fix is to adjust the 4K Video Transfer Rate setting.
How to Adjust the Transfer Rate
From the PS5 home screen, go to Settings (the gear icon in the top-right corner).
Select Screen and Video.
Choose Video Output from the left-hand menu.
Scroll down to 4K Video Transfer Rate and select it.
Change the setting from "Automatic" to -1.
If the flickering persists, go back to the same setting and change it to -2.
This setting reduces the amount of data being sent over the HDMI cable, which can resolve handshake or bandwidth issues that cause screen flickering. Setting it to -1 or -2 reduces the color information (a process called chroma subsampling) to prioritize a stable signal over full color fidelity. Most users will not notice a significant difference in visual quality, but the stability will be greatly improved.
