The most effective way to clear space is by targeting the largest and most easily removable files first. Follow these steps in order to quickly free up storage.

Step 1: Delete Unused Games and Apps (Most Effective)

Games and applications are by far the biggest consumers of storage space. Deleting games you've finished or no longer play will have the most significant impact.

From the PS5 home screen, go to Settings (the gear icon in the top right).

Navigate to Storage.

Select Console Storage -Games and Apps.

Here, you'll see a list of everything installed on your console, sorted by size. Select the games you want to delete by checking the box next to them.

Choose Delete in the bottom-right corner.

Don't worry—you can always redownload any game you've purchased from your Game Library later.
