How to Get the Magical Sword (Second Quest) - The Legend of Zelda Second Quest 100% Walkthrough
16This shows how to get the Magical Sword during the Second Quest. The Magical Sword is the 3rd & strongest sword in the game doing double the damage of the White Sword (and 4 times the Wooden Sword). The only requirements to get this sword are that Link's maximum health must be at least 12 hearts & you'll need the Power Bracelet. You don't even need to have the White Sword first. From the starting screen go to the warp stairs by going right 2 screens & pushing the left block up or down. Go down the staircase that appears & choose the middle of the 3 staircases. Go down 1, then up 1 using the other staircase then go right 2 screens, up 1 screen, right 2 screens, up 1, then right 2 more. Push the rock that's at the tip of the arrow to make a staircase appear. These stairs lead to an Old Man offering the Magical Sword.
If you have the Stepladder then there is actually a very slightly faster way to get to the Magical Sword. From the starting screen go right 1 screen, up 5 screens, left 1 screen, up 2 screens, & right 2 screens.
