Thus, without any further delay, let's go ahead and learn how to add mods to a Minecraft server in 1.14.4.
First and foremost, we need to download Forge for 1.14.4. You can find the modded Minecraft server download link in the description above. This is actually our tutorial on installing Forge. That is because Forge is how you start a modded server in 1.14.4. Once you are on the Forge website, make sure you are downloading the 1.14.4 version. Then, click the 'Installer' button.
Once Forge has finished downloading, you will need to create a new folder on your desktop. This is where your server will be stored. You can name it whatever you want, but I recommend something easy to remember like 'Modded Minecraft Server'. Now, right-click on the Forge file you downloaded, select 'open with', and then select, 'Java TM Platform SE Binary'. That will then go ahead and open up the Forge installer.
Click on 'Install server', click the three dots next to the red dot that appears, and then, select the folder that you created on your desktop for your server. Then, click 'okay'. At this point, your modded Minecraft server software will download. Once it has downloaded, open the folder you created, create a new text document, and copy and paste the code from the description above into it. Save that as a 'run.bat' file with the 'all files' file type. Then, rename the Forge server .jar file to just 'forgeserver.jar'. Then, double click the run.bat file.
This will open the server, but it will fail. You still need to agree to the EULA. Open the 'EULA.txt' file, change 'EULA=false' to 'EULA=true' assuming your modded Minecraft 1.14.4 server is within the Minecraft EULA, and save the file. Now, you can double click on the run.bat file again. At this point, your modded Minecraft server in 1.14.4 will open up.
You aren't done yet though, you still need to port forward the port '25565' in order to allow your friends to join. Once you've done that, go ahead and get your public IP address from the description above, launch up Minecraft using the 'forge' version in your Minecraft launcher, and join your server using your public IP address!
