About this video: In this video, we will show you how to make a Minecraft Paper server in 1.19.4. What is PaperMC? Well, it is a high-performance Minecraft server that can significantly reduce lag compared to vanilla servers. It allows you to add plugins to your server, which can really take a Minecraft 1.19.4 to another level. So, without anymore delay, here is how to download Paper for Minecraft 1.19.4 and start hosting a PaperMC server!
First things first, we will need to go over how to download Paper for Minecraft 1.19.4. In the description above, you will find a link to download Paper 1.19.4. That will actually take you to our complete text tutorial for how to get Paper 1.19.4. On this page, click the ‘Download PaperMC’ button to go to Paper’s official download page.
On the Paper download page, select Paper, and the click the big “Download Paper 1.19.4” button. When you do, Paper will start downloading. You may have to keep or save the file depending on your browser.
After you have downloaded the paper.jar file, you’ll need to setup a folder on your desktop. Just create a new folder and name it “Paper Minecraft 1.19.4”. Then, move the paper.jar file you downloaded into this folder.
Next, we need to rename the paper file you downloaded to simply “paper.jar”. This is required in order to actually launch your Paper server. Once you have renamed the .jar file, we need to create a new text document by right-clicking, clicking “New”, and then “Text Document”.
Open the new text document, and copy and paste the code from the description above. The code changes depending on the amount of RAM you want. Then, click “File”, “Save As”, and name the file “run.bat”. Also, be sure to change the save type as to “All Files”.
Now, all you need to do to start your server is double-click this run.bat file. Your server will try to start, but it will fail. You will have an eula.txt file. Open this file, and change “EULA=false” to “EULA=true” assuming you agree to the Minecraft EULA. Save the eula.txt file, and close it.
You can now finally start your server with the run.bat file. When you do, your server will start. You can then join your server with the IP address “localhost”. This will allow you to test the server and make sure it is running.
For your friends to join, you will need to forward port 25565 on the TCP and UDP protocols. We have a complete guide on how to port forward for a Minecraft Paper server in the description above. With your port forward complete, your friends will join with your public IP address.
