About this video: In this video, we go over exactly how to make a Spigot server in Minecraft 1.14.4. A spigot server will allow you to get plugins on your Minecraft server. Spigot is a fork of Bukkit that is a bit more efficient and allows you to run all of the Bukkit plugins while also being able to run Spigot plugins. On top of that, you can also only run a network Minecraft (Bungee) server off of Spigot servers. Thus, let's go ahead and go over exactly how you can create a Spigot server in Minecraft 1.14.4.
First and foremost, you will need to download Spigot for 1.14.4. You can find the official Spigot download link in the description above. Once you have downloaded Spigot for Minecraft 1.14.4, you will need to create a folder on your desktop to put it in. You can name this folder anything, but I'd recommend naming it '1.14.4 Spigot Minecraft Server'. This will allow you to know exactly what it is on your desktop. After you have your folder created, drag-and-drop your Spigot.jar file into it.
Then, open up your folder, right-click in and, and select 'create'. Then, select 'New Text Document'. Open this new text document and copy the code from the description above. Paste that code into your text document. Now, click file, save as, and then name the file 'run.bat'. Make sure 'save file as' is set to the 'all files' setting. Once you have saved the file, go back to your Spigot 1.14.4 server folder, and double click the 'run.bat' file.
Your server will begin to start but will fail. You need to agree to the EULA by opening the 'EULA.txt' file, changing 'EULA=false' to 'EULA=true'. Save the file, and now double click on the 'run.bat' file again. Your Minecraft Spigot server will startup, and your world folders, server.properties files and plugins folder will all generate. At this point, you could join your Spigot server with your local IPv4 address, but your friends can't.
In order to allow your friends to join, you will need to port forward. Luckily, we have helped millions of people port forward for Minecraft 1.14.4 servers. You will need to port forward port '25565' on the UDP and TCP protocol. You're local IP will be your IPv4 address. We have in-depth guides to port forwarding for a Minecraft 1.14.4 server linked in the description above.
Once you have finished your port forward, you will need to get your public IP from the description above. Use that to join your server! At this point, you know exactly how to make a Spigot server in Minecraft 1.14.4. If you have any issues start your Spigot server in 1.14.4, let us know in the comment section down below, and be sure to give this video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already.
