In this video we are talking about “how to manage your mods load order in Skyrim and Fallout 4 - for Xbox, PC and Playstation”, there is not a precise way of managing mods, but these are the general rules I use to mod those two games myself, so, always keep in mind that some mods could need to be in a different spot in the load order.

First things first, some general things I want to share for mods management: to find mods easier, go to bethesda.net/en/mods , you can login from the button top right, the account is the same that Bethesda makes us create when accessing the “Mods” section within Skyrim Special Edition or Fallout 4. Once you are logged in you are free to search any mod you like, and you can add them to your favorites directly from the page of the mod you are interested in. I suggest you to add the mods to your favorites while the game is closed, because if you are already on the mods page in the game while you add mods from the browser, you won't see the mods appear in the “Favorites” category. Once you added the mods open the game and go to the “Mods” section, you'll find everything under the “Favorites”.

Now that you know how to find mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4, let's highlight the first things that you should do to make them work properly: always check the mods description and read them well, many times you'll find general load order suggestions, or even specific placement instructions to make mods work with other popular mods. Then, the last thing I want to tell you before we get into my personal rules to manage mods is about patches. So, in some cases mods can only work together if you also install a patch mod, in those cases you usually need to put the mods in this order: first the mod with the bigger scope, then, the mod with the smaller scope, and last, the patch that makes the smaller mod work alongside the first. I strongly suggest you to always install patches when they are available, so that your experience is better when playing the game!

Ok, now it's the moment to tell you how I categorize the mods that I install, this is the load order:
- Foundation mods like the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch or the Unofficial Fallout 4 patch
- Bug fix mods like QOL and bug fix compilation
- All gameplay mods like for example mods that add spells, mechanics like dodging, or change perks
- Add-ons such as new weapons, armors, animals, creatures and characters
- Spawn altering mods like Immersive Patrols
- Retextures for Vanilla items like clothes, armors, weapons and so on
- Particle effects like mods that improve the graphics of magic, blood or Fallout's energy weapons
- Environmental graphical mods for both interiors and exteriors, like Skyland, Divine Interiors and Cathedral weathers
- Graphical bug fixes like Color patches remover
- and finally: Animations
Keep in mind that within these categories you always need to make sure that mods are in the proper order, the best way to go about it is to put the big ones before and the small ones afterwards, but always read descriptions to make sure you are doing things right!

I FORGOT: Once you are done modding and the game resets itself, close it and re-open it to apply all changes!
